Writer, art historian and filmmaker Nana Oforiatta Ayim is honoured in Ghana today for Excellence in Cultural Arts.
Nana Oforiatta Ayim is an award-winning writer and film-maker. She is the founder and director of the cultural research organisation, ANO, in Ghana.
The Ghana Women of the Year Honours platform unveils and celebrates both the Ghanaian indigenous and diaspora women who are making great impact in the society. For the past six years, the platform has showcased the untapped potential of womanhood and the outstanding exhibits of the empowered woman in various fields of endeavour.
The full list of Honourees are selected by an astute board of achievers who use clear and objective criteria in ensuring that the final list comprises the most deserving women in various fields.
The list of Honourees for the 6th annual Ghana Women of the Year Honours are:

Excellence in Media – Doreen Andoh (Multimedia Group)
Lifetime Achievement – Her Ladyship Georgina T. Wood (former Chief Justice)
Excellence in Governance – Hon. Shirley A. Botchway (Foreign Affairs Minister)
Excellence in Music – Becca (Artiste)
Excellence in Film – Akofa Edjeani (actress)
Excellence in Technology – Patricia Obo-Nai (MD, Vodafone Ghana)
Excellence in Public Service – Jean Mensa (Chairperson, Electoral Commission)
Excellence in Sports – Mercy Tagoe Quarcoo (Coach of national women’s team, Black Queens)
